Next month it will be one-year since my mom (aka Melanoma Mimi) was diagnosed with skin cancer. 2008 hasn’t been kind to her — health wise. Like a bully on the playground, the last few months have kicked her around a bit, but it looks like 2009 is shaping up to be a much better playmate.
A couple of weeks ago mom called to say that at her annual cancer check there was not one, not two, but four spots that needed to be biopsied “just in case” (two around the original cancer site).
FREAK OUT (me, not her).
As always, she was totally calm under pressure and I did my best imitation.
She called again last night and said, “Guess what!? Everything was negative!”
Whoo-hoo! I’ve never been so happy to hear negative news in my life!
What an awesome Christmas gift.
