Holly Jolly Christmas

Last night was the first of four Christmas celebrations for Mr. Cooper and I have to say, our chunky monkey is a purty good present opener … that is of course when he’s not stuffing his mouth with tissue paper (and other things …). =)

Chris, Coop and I went over to Nana & Pappy’s house (aka Chris’ Dad and Step mom) to wine, dine and dive into the gift-giving season along with Aunt Jessica and Uncles Brett & TJ.

Jess & Brett gifted Coop with a Bumbo chair (love it!!!) pre-dinner, so when the prime rib and turkey hit the table, Coop sat with the rest of us, happily banging on his plate charger, ringing the bells on the napkin rings and pulling the placemat to his lap, threatening to take the contents of the entire table with it. Halfway through the gorge fest, Coop broke into his bubble boy routine, prompting EVERYONE to start returning the favor. There’s nothing like a roomful of adults cloaked in warm candlelight and Christmas décor making bubbles and spit noises at a baby. Classic!

After we’d stuffed ourselves to the gills (and Coop had his requisite screaming fit), we all took to the living room to swap gifts. Coop cleaned house with toys (yay!) and gift cards (double yay!) a plenty.

While Coop had a blast tearing through piles of wrapping, I think it all paled in comparison to little Bailey. Brett has a teeny, tiny, just-the-right-size-for-a-6-month-old Chihuahua and Coop seemed fascinated with trying to see if that little dog’s head would fit in his mouth! Hey, everything’s fair game — even live animals apparently — when you’re drooling like a mad man and cuttin’ two teeth at once! (Poor Bailey! She probably has a complex about being eaten alive now. Puppy Prozac needed. Stat.)

-smell you later-
