I guess it really is true what they say: All good things must come to an end.
Four months ago I took a leap of faith, leaving behind a much-loved job as the senior editor at DallasChild magazine in exchange for a less-chaotic, more financially beneficial position as an advertising copywriter.
I needed a change in order to be the best mommy to my little guy.
I made the right decision. My family has benefited from my decision. I do not regret my decision.
However, it’s time for a new decision.
At 4:50 this afternoon it was announced that the company I work for is, for the most part, being liquidated. As of this evening it is uncertain what this means for my department … what this means for me.
My heart is now heavy during this holiday season. I have come to love my job and, more importantly, the people I work with. And I am sad that good-byes are inevitable.
I have to hope that something better is on the horizon for me, as well as my colleagues. This is my fervent prayer.
If you stumble upon this post, please join me in sending up a message of peace, of love, of hope and understanding for all of those who may be hurting as a result of this announcement.
May the joy and the reason for the season not be overshadowed by uncertainty.

Tessa, I'm so sorry to hear this news! You are a wonderful writer and editor -- and a super person -- and I know you will land in a terrific new spot. But I know you are concerned for your co-workers as well as yourself. I will say a prayer for you and your friends, and I want you to know I'm thinking of you.
Holiday hugs,
Kathy
Tess,
I heard about your job the other day from Grandma...I certainly will keep you and your co-workers in my prayers and also tell others to include you in their prayer sessions. But know, good things will come, they always do for you guys. Hugs and Kisses!!!!!
